Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author, television personality, philanthropist as well as the founder and publisher of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England together with her family around the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. First foreign-born graduate to be elected president of the highly regarded debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took over the presidency. She became a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a couple of years after, she created an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on the political landscape. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to stand for a non-partisan position for the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. She was also involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on this list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the 100 most influential media on their list. In 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of that media unit, which comprised of many then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management. The way she lived her life was determined by her closeness to her mother and her bond with her father, despite her being very close to him. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the leadership abilities that she is still known for. at the age of 16 she emigrated back to United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman president, and also the only president from outside the country. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. She was a journalist, a TV host and columnist upon her graduation. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own novels with his assistance.
