Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England at the age of sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she graduated. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice portal that offered critiques of the state of the nation's politics. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna became famous after she decided in 2003 to run as an Independent Candidate for the California Recall election to succeed the Governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit initiative to encourage the use of fuel-efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its list for the Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as the president of their media company that also includes additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are journalists and consultants in management. They were very close to her father. However, it was her bond with her mother that shaped her. In her early years she showed the qualities of a leader that she is still known for. At 16 years of age she relocated into the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years, she belonged to Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was awarded. She worked as a critic as well as a host on TV as well as a columnist following her graduation. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
