Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. The mother of her, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of abilities, which included the ability perform, direct production, create plays teaching, as well as be the director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton and is the daughter of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" that is originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for productions as a young girl and observing her mother doing her job. When she was a child, she was featured in various commercials. Anna moved to Toronto in November 1999 to further her acting career. After that, she settled at Los Angeles (California) over the next decade. Anna was introduced to Seth Cooperman in 2007 at an actor's training located in Los Angeles, and they became engaged in 2009. Anna was a convert to Judaism at the time, and Seth Cooperman were married in December of 2010 in Fredericton. In April 2011, they renewed their wedding vows with the traditional Jewish ceremony.
